With the advent of programs like "Who do you think you are?" more and more people are beginning to take an interest in their families past.
It has become easier to research with online search facilities like Ancestry and Genes Reunited.
However, you may not have the time or you may find it difficult to understand or perhaps you simply don't know where to start?
My own father started his tree many years ago, having to research the "old fashioned" way using the records office and parish records. This is all very well if you still live in the same County as all your ancestors but if you have "Bargees" in your family tree like we do....finding them is a different kettle of fish altogether!
With all the online records now available, I took the research my dad did and expanded the tree to its current numbers of 573 individuals and 134 different surnames. I discovered I had a knack for finding records where other people had already seemingly looked and then other people began to ask me if I would look at their families for them.
In four days I was able to research a friends family tree, with the surname Smith and give them a tree totalling 87 individuals and 14 different surnames!
